Let's play "catch-up"...

I can't believe it's mid January already! Man, time flies!

Let's see...Summer was great. Rachel decided to move in to her boyfriend's place and Becky decided to move into our friend's house to help out with their baby. Sort of a nanny position. Nice and quiet in my house! John is the only one left in the house right now. He misses his sisters, tho.

Fall- Sue and I were lucky enough return to The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, CO for another great Darkness Radio event! What a beautiful place! Dave and Tim from Darkness Radio always throw such a great event with lots of interesting speakers.

Christmas was kind of quiet. I'm not really a "Christmas" kinda person. Give me Thanksgiving any day! No trying to figure out the "perfect" gift for someone, no crowded stores...no spending money you really don't have. Yeah, give me Thanksgiving any ol' day. The Macy's parade, lots of food, great desserts and just hanging out with the family.
Well....that's about it for now. Keep warm wherever you are!

Well...this TOTALLY sucks!

Dear AOL Journals user,

We’re sorry to inform you that on Oct. 31, 2008, AOL® Journals will be shut down permanently. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

It’s very important that you save your Journals content before the shutdown. We're working on a way to easily move your Journal to another blogging service -- you can expect an email within the next week with more details about how to do it. We want the transition to go as smoothly as possible for you, so you’ll have two choices. You can either save your information manually and find another place to blog on your own, or choose to automatically transfer your Journal to a different blogging service we’ve selected.

In the meantime, please bookmark the People Connection Blog, where you can find out more about AOL Journals. You can also subscribe to the People Connection Blog RSS feed to stay informed about any changes. We’ll be updating the People Connection Blog often, so please check it regularly.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we make this transition.

Sincerely,

OMG!! It's August already?!

Time flies..

All is well here. Kids are out and about. Rachel decided to stay at her boyfriend's house for the summer. I suggested it because she and Becky CONSTANTLY argue and I need a break from it. Becky's been in cosmetology school since May. John is just hangin' out this summer. He's a senior this school year...I can't believe it! In May I told him to find a job for the summer. Has yet to happen. He has, however, been extremely helpful around the house. He does the dishes, load/unloads the dishwasher, vacuums, straightens up..etc. Of course he expects to be compensated.

Herman and I are doing well. Took a few trips down the shore. Hung out. Went to Atlantic City for a night. A few of our friends got married this summer so we've been to their respective parties. Looking forward to vacation- last week of August. We hope to do some camping in PA at Ricketts Glen State Park. There are 27 waterfalls! We'll also head to VT for a quick visit with my parents.

Went to see Dave Matthews Band in June with Becky, my sister and her family. We had lawn seats and it rained. My brother in law was arguing with some kids about their behavior. Becky was arguing...her favorite thing to do. So, I bought tickets for just my sister and I to see Dave at Madison Square Garden in September...no one else is invited! Can't wait!!

Was in the hospital for a few day in late June. Food poisoning or salmonella...not sure. I'm all better now!

Sue and I are heading back to Colorado in early November to The Stanley Hotel for a Darkness Radio event. Jason and Grant (of Ghost Hunters fame) will be there. I hope we get snowed in!

Ok..well, I guess I got you all caught up.

Back to the show...

Peace...

Just checking in

Yeah, I guess it's been awhile since I checked in on my journal. Not much is new. (A very good thing!)

Kids are all behaving. John got his driver's permit last night so he keeps bugging me to drive. Becky still doesn't have her permit..a good thing. Rachel is out looking for another job...YAY! We don't see too much of her lately. She has a boyfriend that she spends alot of her time with.

Becky and I are headed to Vermont on Saturday.  We're taking the train! I can't wait. We're going to my parent's so that I can drive my mom back down here to help care for my sister when she has her sinus surgery next week.

Herman got to spend a few days in Forida a few weeks ago. He had a great time. He went with his brother in law. They did alot of partying. And they spent time with his parents, aunt and cousins. I'm glad that he went. He needed it.

Well...that's about it.

Peace!

***slapping my wrist***

I'm still here.

Things have been fairly quiet here in my world. And that's cool.

TSPR: We took on 2 new members recently. Did an investigation at the Paterson house. Going back on Saturday. (Can't wait!)

Life (in general): Good. Everyone is behaving. Went back to the gym last night.

Me: Was sick on and off lately. had a really bad flare up of my fibromyalgia. ( I had stopped drinking tonic water, which had quinine in it. Quinine helps with the pain of fibromyalgia. So, I started drinking it again. Symptoms subsided within several days.Go figure.) Had bad stomache thingy. Not sure what was wrong with me. Feeling better today.

Travels: Nothing to mention. We went to Pt. Pleasant on Jan.6th. Watched the Giant's game. (They won!) Otherwise, we've been close to home.

Holidays: We had Christmas here...22 people for dinner! I have to day that the steam tables I bought a few years ago are the best investment I have made in awhile! So, menu: Ham, lasagna, green bean casserole, balmi (like lo mein), can't remember what else I had!! New Year's Eve I was "home alone"...Herman worked his security gig that night (couldn't pass up the $$) and I stayed on the couch with heating pads and a single serve bottle of champagne. A nice quiet night.

Babies: Our niece had a baby girl on Dec. 25th!. Heather (a close friend) had her son, Bob, on Dec. 27th! and finally, Samantha, our neighbor, had her daughter Jocelyn on Jan. 4th! We had a babay shower for Samantha on Dec. 9th. It turned out great! I cooked most of the food. "Sam" got alot of stuff for the baby.

Other crap: Rachel is considering moving in with her boyfriend of 8 months. We'll see. I'm torn. I'd like to see her become more independent but I'd really miss her. Becky is still Becky. John is doing well. He played (with his band) at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park last week.

Ok..I think that brings us up to speed.

Peace...
